I am so frustrated! I took pictures, edited them, saved them as psd files. Now I can't find them anywhere! The organizer says they are "missing files" so I tried to reconnect them. The dialog box says it found them but I can't get them to show up anywhere. Any suggestions? And why do all the psd files go missing?

Becky,
PSD files are saved to wherever you say to save them to.
Make a simple Psd, go to File - Save as, in the dialogue box make sure it has the name you chose for your PSD. At the the side click Desktop. then click save.
You creation should now be on your desktop, you can now copy it to any file you want.

Hi Becky. Welcom to the forum.

If you are using Windows, you can find your .PSD files this way.

From the Desktop, double click on My Computer, then on Local Disk C: , Then press Ctrl-F and a search window should pop up. In the filename to search for, type *.PSD, press enter, and it should find all your PSD files on your C drive.

Becky,
Be sure to have hidden files and folders showing in Windows. In Explorer go to >Tools >Folder Options >View tab and click on 'Show hidden files and folders'. Then repeat the search.

And another thing - if when you look for them with "file> Open) - you have jpg in format (files of type box) instead of "all" - it will show only jpgs. Or you could try choosing psd as the format if that's the file you're looking for

By default Organizer will save an edited version in the same folder as the original. (At least in V. 2)

If you "get from camera or cardreader" Organizer will copy the images into a subfolder in a default location or where you tell it to. (In 2 the default is My Pictures/Adobe/Digital Camera Photos/Subfolder named based on import date/time)

If you "get from files and folders" Organizer will not make a copy of the images, it will just make a note of their location and create a thumbnail for the cache. The images remain in their original location and there is no copy.

It is possible that your psds are on a camera card or other removable media.

Check the properties of the image that your looking for. That will tell you where Organizer expects to find it.

I can't tell from your post. Are the original jpegs still there or did they go missing too?

Good luck.
