An early post again as we're heading off to the UK tomorrow. Not great weather for pic taking but this derelict farmhouse in the middle of a ploughed field caught my camera...

It's subtle, but if you look closely you can see the signs of disrepair. Taken with my pocket Nikon Coolpix on b/w setting, straightened and level adjusted.

Not sure I can post it here because the picture was not taken this week.
When I took it, some years ago, I was at Chinon (France) I could'nt figure how this house could remain standing so much it tilted on the left and the floors were so much rounded.
Taken with a Canon Elan 11, scanned and re-shape this week (levels control):

I have to make a confession that this one wasn't taken this week  It wasn't a week that I could get out and hunt for buildings, so I fell back on this one that was taken awhile back.

I just installed my adobe photoshop tonight and I'm brand new to this forum, but I'm very interested in learning all that I can from the rest of you, so I'll just jump right into the fray and hope for the best! You can see the picture at:

This is a dilapidated church located in Ellisville Illinois that I shot on 10/9/2005. (I've been taking advantage of this beautiful autumn weather we are having!)

welcome Mrsmas. When you upload your image to pixentral, first use the save for web option and make sure you longest side is 700 pixels or less. That way we'll be able to see it on screen without having to scroll. I have a separate folder named "save for web' specifically for this purpose. Then when I go to pixentral all I have to do is select this folder and I know the pictures are all the right size.
We do this photo challenge weekly and the new ones are posted every Sunday, so make sure you check out this weeks new one. It's always wonderful to see everyone's work and interpretation of the assignment.

Thanks so much for that information. My pictures were sized to large so it was necessary to resize them. You tip really helped and I've taken your advice of the "saved for web" directory! Here is the proper link for that old building:

I've corrected the animal challenge to be the correct link. Thanks again!

Much better. Now we can enjoy the picture. There is also another thread where you can comment on others pictures for each assignment.
If you have any questions, just ask us. It's a friendly bunch.

This tiny home has been empty for years tho I always wished it were mine as it gives me a peaceful feeling to be near it.
My camera was set to B&W so no photoshopping at all.

Just noticed the challenge the other day. Pulled up a shot I took last month of an old deserted school house in Kimberly, Minnesota.

Hey Smokey
Welcome to the forums.
Just a fun challenge to get us up off our collective butts and outside (mostly)
to take some pics.
Minimal rules..if you want to call em that.
We try to take the pics the week the challenge is posted..try being the key word .
Minimal photoshopping.. photo correction as opposed to creation.
One posting per person.
Any comments regarding photos to go in the complimentary assignment thread
Have fun.

Thought this door pretty much summed up what the rest of the building looked like.
