I'll put this here because of the B&A, but I would really like suggestions on what type of real frame to use on the final photo.
Wood just doesn't seem to go with the blue background.

8 x 10 crop.

Thanks for any suggestions.

It depends where you are going to hang it and the colour of the surroundings! How about a similar blue to the background.?:)

I'm boring but I'd try black. Is it going to be matted?

Hi Gary,
I love wood, and would go for a blondish wood that picks up the blonde in the hair, or a red wood that picks up the toning of the red clothes. Had a very quick play.

Gary,

I bought some dark leather frames recently, of course I haven't decided what to put in them, but I thought they looked like quality merchandise :D and a change from a wood frame. I reckon they'd look nice on a bureau or sideboard.

Of Toni's examples I like the reddish colour frame best.

Of course you have piqued my curiosity now :D, I think I can identify you in the picture, but who's everyone else?? :) It's a lovely group photo.

Thanks

I am just so wishy washy on this whole thing.
I've asked my sisters, but they are as bad as I am on this stuff.;)

Not sure if I will matte it or not.

Toni's red looks good but it has the matte. That might make the whole thing a bit big... but I like it.

Black was the way I was going and I saw some leather frames that struck my fancy. So Julie and Lisa are thinking along the same lines as I was.

Susan.. I have no idea of the colour scheme where it is going ..going to give it to my mom.

Maybe I'll pass it off to one of my sisters so I don't have to decide.:D
Man I'm a loser.

Lisa.. roll call

My two sisters, my b-inlaw, my two kids and my neice and nephews.

Gary since it's for your mom I would get a frame that looks like those old pewter filigreed type things, like this -

or this -

They are everywhere these days - like Target.

I would look at something in a mahogany or dark cherry colored frame. It will pick up the hair color of the woman on the left and the colors being worn by a couple others. It will go with the blue and would, I think, pull the colors out of the picture quite nice.

Nancy

That's no woman .. that's my baby sister.:D

Ok... so I'm looking for a dark cherry, pewter filagreed frame with a black leather covering... got it.
Good thing all the malls are doing Christmas hours, this might take a while.:D

Thanks all.
To be honest I have looked at similar frames to all those mentioned, but I value your colour coordination far more than my own. Maybe I'm picking stuff up off you guys.;)

Should be a piece of cake! :D

Careful though you start talking color coordination too much and they'll be asking for your man-card back. :D

Gary,

I like the idea of the red woods as well for the reasons Nancy stated, especially if you are not going to matte it.

The modern black frames are very nice... but that's going to pronounce the black shirt(s) and your beard! :D Seriously I'm thinking the remainder of the family will fade with the black.

However, its a personal choice so take that lovely portrait with you and see which one you like.

What a lovely gift for your mom!
