How Do I split a photo into three equal parts - to end up with three photos?

Hi ...

Just turn on the grid (View>Grid)
then use that to divide up the image
Use the Rectangular Marquee to select one of the areas
and then do Edit>Paste

the do the same thing with the other two areas ..

That should sort it out for you :)

You could also just crop it then "save as" the new crop with a different name then repeat 2 more times.
