In Quick Fix mode, there is a Before and After view. Is there a way to do this in the Full Edit mode? After adding various layers to an image, is there a way to compare what you have done so far to the the original image? I am using PSE 5. Thanks!

lvsach692,

There is no automatic way to do a Before/After in Full Edit like in Quick View.

As a workaround, you could create a duplicate of the image when you first open it, and then just minimize it to the Photo Bin. When you want to compare, just open the un-edited copy.

I ALWAYS make a duplicate copy of my Background layer. After I have been creating additional layer and want to see my before image I ALT+click on eye next to the background layer (which hides all of my new layers) and then when I ALT+click it on the eye again it brings them all back for the after view.

Hope this helps!

Ivsach,
Another way is to use the Undo History Pallet --- Window> Undo History. The bottom layer will be at the top of this pallet, just click on it and it will show the original. If you have several layers open you can expand the pallet so as to see all of them. You can click on any layer to see how the Edit looked at that stage. Click on the bottom History stage to show your present Editing.

When I click on the undo history palette, it 'undoes' (deletes) everything done up to the point that you click. I often use that as a quick way to undo a bunch of steps.

Joan,
If you click on the bottom edit step in the Undo History pallet everything will still be there if you haven't started another edit.

Thank you for your sharing your ideas. I really like that Before and After view in the Quick Fix Mode. Maybe someday they'll have that in the Full Edit mode.
