I have two pictures of the same shot from Thanksgiving.. Of course there were two people who didn't look when they were supposed to.. so I want to cut their head out of one picture and paste it onto the other picture.

I am very new to Photoshop Elements 6

Can someone guide me through?

Thanks
Judy

Judy,

As a rough outline...

Open both images in Editor. On the image with the good faces, place a selection around the portion you want to transfer to the other image. (with luck, the background will be similar so you don't have to be too surgical in making your selection!) Edit > Copy to capture that portion to your clipboard. Select the image with the bad faces, Edit > Paste to send the contents of your clipboard to a new layer in this image. Use the Move or Free Transform tools to position the new face over the old. Clean up any rough edges.

Repeat for the other face.

(I told you this would be a rough outline!)

Try that and post back if you need help with the details.

Byron

A couple of tips to add to Byron's method.

You can feather the face selection slightly to make it blend better.

You can reduce the opacity of the face layer to while positioning the new face, then return it to 100% when you've got it in place.
