Downloading Effects/textures on a Mac

I'm new to this so forgive me. I'm using a Mac and PSE4. When I download any textures or effects from this site it adds it to my desktop. When I click on the desktop icon it takes me to PSE4. Where did this effect go and how do I get to it? Do I have to add it to my PSE folder and if so where? There are no instructions at all on this site. Thanks in advance for any help. :confused:

Hi ...

When you download a texture it does indeed download onto your desktop ... but then you will need to install it into Elements ... what is the file ending of the files you have downloaded ???

after I unzip the file it's an .asl file

An .asl file is a layer style.

... and for PSE4 on a Mac that goes in Applications>Adobe Photoshop Elements4>Presets>Styles

Then you will need to restart Elements :)

So glad that you now have the style installed ...

The main problem is that they install different way on different versions :)
