I have a card I made & it is saved in PSD. There is one layer which has an element in it that I would like to save on its own so that I can use it in another Xmas Card.
How can I do this please ?
Thanks. Storm

Well, I would open the file with the element in it and then create a new, blank file. Next, I would click on the layer with the element in it and then drag that layer to the new file I just created. Finally, save the new file to your hard disk - and voila :)

Storm - there may be an easier way but I usually turn off all of the other layers and then save the element as a separate .psd file. I then go into that new .psd and throw away all of those extra layers.

Thanks David & Kim. What I did was to turn off the eyes of all layers except the layer I wanted.
Saved it as a PNG & then turned all the closed eyes back on .I am slowly going brain dead again;)
Thanks Storm
