Hallo All, I've just joined. Am VERY impressed! I was given PSE 6 as a gift and have been using Fuji Finepix S500. My husband surprised me with a Canon 400D today, well - I'm feeling totally LOST! New camera, new PSE 6, I hardly know where to begin.
We stay in Pretoria, our passion is Wildlife, esp the Kruger National Park.:D

Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you found us because we always have someone around to answer questions. I'll bet living next to a preserve you have some wonderful photos. Why not post a few in your gallery.

Welcome to this community of helpful friends.
A good way to learn is through interactive seminars by Adobe. They allow you to type in questions that will be answered at the end of the demonstration. There are two upcoming that show Version 6. The first on December 11, 2007, the second on February 5, 2008. I've logged into several so far and have picked up tricks from the people who created the products.
Here is the link: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/event/index.cfm?event=detail&id=851960&loc=en_us
They give you step-by-step instructions in an e-mail after you register. Here is a link for that information: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatconnectpro/
Then they send a reminder e-mail the day before the seminar. About 10 days after the seminar, they put it on the website to watch it again.
That link is here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/event/index.cfm?event=list&loc=en_us&type=ondemand_seminar&product=Creative+Suite&interest&sdid=BBEVV
If you register, you may be able to go to this link and see past events such as "What's New in Photoshop Elements 6", and if you do video editing with Premiere Elements: "Tell your story with photos and videos using Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4- for Digital Imaging." I did log into one of the sessions that I had not registered for, so you may be able to do this, too.
For anyone with Version 5, there is an old seminar there, too.
Be sure to ask questions here if you need help.

Welcome! We're all glad to have you here. Any help you need, just let me know.
BTW, my sister-in-law and hubby have a condo in Capetown right on the beach. They go there every year from November to May. They've been on a few safaries...wonder if that is where they go.

Hi Scado,
Welcome. I have friends from South Africa, they have been here in the states about 8 years now and life sure is different there in many ways from here.
Your photos are wonderful-you certainly don't look like a beginner to me. Loved the one with the lions (?).
Welcome & I'm sure we will meet along the way.

Hallo Eleanor
The lion photo was taken 3 or 4 years ago with my Finepix. We were in the Kruger Park, coming back from a picnic, when a tourist stopped us and said he hadn't seen anything the whole day and asked us if we had been lseen anything. Well... As we drove off, this group of 8 were coming down the road. As you can see on the photo, they were focussing on the bush. Wam! They just disappeared, obviously wanting a quick take-away. This was a VERY lucky moment.
The Scrapbooking thing is new to me, this was one of the first photos I used.
I had a look at the PSE backgrounds and themes and would like a few more options, where do I go to to download? Can someone help.
Glad you enjoyed the lion lucky moment.:D
