I don't always get to visit Alaska in ideal weather. Here's what Turnagain Arm south of Anchorage looked like on March 10th of this year....no tidal bore surfers for sure!

Hi,
I have never gotten there, but a good friend of mine has. While installing computer systems all over the state he found time to take a few shots.

Great Alaska photos.
I've enjoyed the ones I took, but did not get all I wanted. Hopefully, I'll get to return.

Well OK, Its my fault. I had asked about starting this by mentioning we had a couple of people that have visited Alaska.
Here are two more from me.

Nice train shot, we were drinking and had a graet time on that train. Did you eat any meals onboard?? We all liked the old fashioned West kind of car.
There is absolutely no way we can explain the feeling or emotions we experienced in Alaska.
When we were returning from our little adventure from flying in and around the Mountains of Mt McKinley from the airstrip called Talkeetna, we were talking about this on the bus. That when we caught up to our group (and my wife who didn't go for this LOL) and they will ask us what we thought "There are no words to discribe what we thought and felt". There are no pictures to completely describe what we saw and there is no way we can even think of explaining what we experienced. There are no words in the English Language on how to describe what we experienced. In shocking outstanding Awe might come close. LOL

She was in the Lower 48 at this time in the Hospital and passed away about 1 week later.
Susan Butcher was a Four Time Champ of the Iditarod, the Great Alaska Dog Sled Race. Here you see how they train there Huskies or Pullers.

My best outdoor experience ever took place in the vicinity of Prince William Sound. I got the opportunity to go ocean kayaking up to the vicinity of the face of Shoup Glacier. The day was warm and cloudless, and the sights were breathtaking. Fortunately, I was in the front of a two-person kayak, and the 20-something guy in the back was very willing to do most of the paddling while I took pictures. Here's what it looked like as we neared our destination:

Mark, that was taken with my old (and reliable) Canon G2 - still my favorite camera although it rarely gets used anymore.
