It is off to a dangerous start, nice ones so far. Hope the ER visit was short, Bill.

Ok Ellen - so why the heck do you have that? :D What exactly is the purpose of an egg piercer?

Ellen
November 18th, 2007, 04:49 PM
Nancy, I have no idea why one would pierce an egg, it has a magnet so it's always handy on the reefer just in case. My husband was a collector (aka pack-rat). Somewhere there's an egg cuber so I'm good for what the heck week.:)

Well that answers that question. Thanks Bayla. Never saw one before. Ellen it appears you have a useful thing-a-ma-jig after all! :D

Bill,

We are worried about you being in the emergency room. I hope that everything is OK. I was just wondering if you really took your camera into the emergency room. I thought I was addicted.

Clara -

Thanks for caring, but please, no worries. My wife had a little concern we wanted to ask some questions about ... couple tests and all is well. A good trip to the ER is one when you can take your camera along .;)

I'm glad to read everything is ok, I have to admit I smiled at your photo, NOT because of the visit to A&E, I hasten to add, but because you took your camera with you ;)

That's great that all is well. I have a camera that goes everywhere with me. When my grandson was born I bought a "granny camera" as I call it. :D Don't leave home without it. It fits neatly into my purse and takes really great pictures. Best part is it is always ready to shoot - no fumbling with lens or carrying a huge bag with me.

Bill - I'm also relieved that the trip to the emergency room resulted in a "non-emergency."

Steven - What a great concept in capturing sharp things! You now join the ranks as a great Surrealist Artiste'! However, I would have pictured your tongue a little more forked! (just kidding - no need to give me a public tongue-lashing!) ;)

Nancy - I'm currently looking for a compact camera which will fit easily into a purse and takes great pictures. Would you mind telling me what model you have and if you would recommend it? Thanks!

Kim - I hope this doesn't precluce Nancy from answering your question, but I have a Canon sd450 that's a couple years old and goes absolutely everywhere with me. Fits in jeans pockets very easily.

I have the Sony Cybershot DSC-W80. It is 7 mp and has SuperSteadyShot - basically same as IS. Very compact and takes great pictures. Not much bigger than a deck of cards! I like the large viewing screen it has. I wanted something to fit in my purse or pocket and this does that beautifully. I wanted the Canon G8 (I think that's right- Chuck has it) but it was so much more expensive and not dropping much so I got this one instead.

Thanks, Nancy! I'll add the Sony Cybershot, as well as the Canon G8, to my list!

I appreciate your's and Bill's suggestions.

Kimi,

Great to see you....though I wouldn't be very happy to come across you brandishing that sharp item - it looks really lethal!!!!

We've got some cutting edge entries already!!

Nancy - Looks like you were ready with camera in hand for this one!! Nice images and a nice entry.

Bayla - This was another one that seemed to be right up your alley! I really like the sharpness and the lighting. Nicely done.

Debra - Ouch is right! I'll bet the thorns are guarding some beautiful roses though.

Ellen - Nice background using the egg carton! Glad we got to the bottom of what it's used for.

Clara - I'm fascinated! The fruit must be quite tasty or valuable to some critters ... Mother Nature went way out of her way to provide protection like that. I like the shallow DOF in your image.

Steven - Forked tongue? Very fun, but I'm not going to ask how you got the photo of it.

Vicrty1 - Thanks for joining the fun. The fishing knife looks plenty sharp to me.

Steve - We get the point. (Sorry.) Nice sharp image ... and the little glint finishes it nicely. Well done.

Kim2900 - I usually try to imagine different ways that folks can play before I post a theme ... but I COMPLETELY missed that one. Very nice. (Full disclosure is that I didn't see Steven's coming either.;))

Lisa - Nice kitty. Looks like Farouk is one to keep on your good side.

Kimi - Wonderful seeing you!!!! Looks like the D80 is serving you well ... the image is sharp in every sense of the word. (Note to self ... stay out of Kimi's trunk!)

We're off to a wonderful start ... and there's still lots of time for others to join in. Tell your friends!

I got up at 6:30 and looked at the forum. When I saw you mention Band Saw I knew this was an easy one. In the past month he has bought the Radial Arm saw, Band Saw and Wood Lathe and built workbenches. I went out to the "man-cave" and snapped the pictures. My daughter thought I was absolutely crazy taking pictures out there at 7 am in my PJ's. :D

Boy eveyone has some great images this week. But....where's Gary?

Thanks Bill for the comments and especially for not asking about how to shoot a sharp tongue:)
I too am glad to see Kimi here and love the Acadian ice pick.

Byron - They're both great, but I really like the colors in the cactus shot. Glad you had a fallback lens.

Lisa - Yup .... Coleman's is sharp! (... and very good:))

Pat - Great entries again this week. They're both wonderful!

Suzette - Thanks for joining in!! That's a great photo ... I'm glad you posted it. We'll hope to see lots more of your work!! Again, Welcome!!
