here's a photo that I took last year in Montreal. the sky was blown way out and the subject was very dark .... I used a variety of means to "fix" this photo.. I gave up for realism, so using some lighting effects I tried a more surreal look.

Opinions?

Very cool! Almost Harry Potter-ish.

Hi John

I like that green...I can almost see a dragon somewhere

You could also try a b&w

thanks Jo ...
I think that being able to make something from a photo that you might have just discarded in the past is the best thing about learning to manipulate images.

Treasure from trash?

maybe that could be a new forum subtopic LOL

Isn't fun to take a photo that is just about tossable and salvage it into something unique?

Nice work!

Hi John, Just found this. How on earth did you do it? Same with the person who changed it to black and white. I know how to desaturate, but not how you manage to take care of the white sky that's blown out while adding detail to the dark image. I have some shots that I would like to selectively edit that way. Help! Rae
