The password I had for the old site no longer works. When I attempted to log on it automaticallu assigned me a numbered password. I was not given an option to enter a password of my liking. How can i change my password back to my old one?

Click on User CP at the top of the forum in the blue bar then go to edit email/password you can make changes there.
