Maximum 2MB filesize, 700x600 dimensions. It may automatically resize down to that though, I'm not sure. Clicking "View Allowed Extensions" on the upload form will pop up a chart with all the specs.

You have 10 mb of space to use. Sticking with the size we had in the old gallery will give you considerably more images. I have uploaded mine at 600 for the longest side at 300 dpi.

To Delete, Edit or Change Category of an image:

Go to your gallery and click on the image you want to edit. In the upper right corner of the title bar above your image you will see Image Tools. The flyout menu gives you several options. The edit option allows you to:
Edit
Delete
Change Category
Edit your comments
Edit your title
Add keywords
Rotate your image

How to get email Updates of Posts
Go to image tools and select "Received Email Updates"

Hope this helps!

Here is Wendy's Reply to this:
Just click on Gallery ...
Click on My Stuff>My Images
The copy the URL ..

Go into User CP>Edit Signature
Type in what you want it to say
Highlight the words
then ... click on the little blue link above the box (a sort of blue globe)
paste in the URL ..

... don't forget to click on save signature and that is :D:D

Thanks, Nancy. I finally found it (by accident) because for some reason that thread showed no new posts. Ah well-all set now:)

Use the link in your browser. Just type your text, click on the words you want clickable and then click on the globe with a chain and paste the link there in the lower box. That's all there is to it.

Another thread addressed the gallery categories, but I thought my comment should be posted here.

It seems many people are uncertain about the placement of their photos into the categories of Photography and/or Retouching. (For instance, removing a blemish from someone's nose, blurring the background of a photo, or enhancing the color are acceptable corrections. But which category should be assigned?)

I think that the two categories should be joined together and kept as Photography.

Then, instead of Retouching, I propose using the category of PhotoArt. Define PhotoArt as any photo that has been changed to create an appearance of watercolor, pencil sketch, paint, chalk, etc.

If needed, another category, Restoration could be added. This would be for old photos/slides that were faded, torn, etc. and have been restore and given new life.

Just my thought

Yes, that's a good idea. I wasn't sure which category to put my 'watercolour' in, so chose 'Retouching'.:)

I personally think the categories could be removed completely since you'll never see everyone interpreting the guidelines the same way! ;)

Does anyone know how to "subscribe" to an image in the gallery so that it appears under "My Stuff">"My Subscriptions"? I'd like to be able to go back to images I've commented on and see if there are further comments or responses...

I'll make sure Jon sees this and perhaps he can answer it. I have searched everywhere and I can't find it either. You can add to favorites, but I don't see an option to subscribe.

Thanks, Nancy. I still think I prefer starting a thread about a new image when I see one I like. But that subforum would get pretty full if I did that for every image that catches my eye so I guess comments are the way to go. But I do want to be able to follow up on the ones I've commented on...

Hi Julie-

Here's what to do:

- Go go the Gallery and click on an image that catches your eye, to bring up the big version.

- Look in the top-right corner of the image window...do you see the link/menu called Image Tools? Click it.

- Move down to Receive Email Updates and click that

- Done! Go to My Stuff > My Subscriptions, and it should be there. If you ever want to remove an image from this area, there's a link under each thumbnail that will allow you to do this.

And I'm glad you asked this question...this is one of the things I covered in a recent video I made on "living" in the Village. But shhh--don't tell anyone. I don't think they're posted yet. ;)

Thanks, Mike! But what if I want to subscribe but don't want the email updates? In the forum, I'm subscribed to all threads to which I reply and I can click on Quick Links>Subscribed Threads to see them but do not get email notification.

Thanks for letting me in on the secret about your project. My lips are sealed! :D;) That sounds like a terrific idea...

The gallery system is separated from the thread system enough that I don't think it's possible for them to get on the same subscriptions page. Or at least possible without a rather lengthy hack.

I suggest trying to add to your favorites instead of choosing receive email updates. Favorite images are accessible in My Stuff > Favorites and do not trigger emails upon updates. It's not perfect, but it's workable.

I'm not sure what you mean but if you click on a photo it becomes full size - under it is the filmstrip view and then the description box. Maybe you aren't scrolling down far enough?
Hope that is a help.

Hi Storm, here's what I get with your image full size-
http://www.pixentral.com/hosted/1R2VJ6wAJkYXV1LTMuq5yBjVVZ4y_thumb.jpg (http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1R2VJ6wAJkYXV1LTMuq5yBjVVZ4y)
in the screen shot the card is full size above and the comments are below. The white box with your descriptions are in each of your images. I have no idea why you can't see them.

Storm - try this - below the image is a filmstrip. Below the filmstrip is a dark blue bar that has a little computer on the left side and an arrow on the right. Click on that arrow and it should display your information. I think you may have accidently closed it.

I wonder is someone can give me a bit more information regarding the e-card. I sent one to myself to see if it worked and it has disappeared into cyberspace! Are these meant to be sent to just members or to anyone we want? What could I be doing wrong?
