Hi, friends:
I've been so busy with other stuff this past month, that I haven't been really able to sit down at the computer and try to be "creative." However, this new creation is kind of cool!
Of course, I cannot say it enough....I owe my "creativity" to the inspiration that I receive from each and every one of you talented people who post such amazing creations! THANKS SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!

Thanks, Denise!
I am laughing right now, cuz I'm not really sure how I did this! However I did try it again on the same picture and came out with the same effect.
Here goes:
I made a duplicate layer of the original.
I desaturated my duplicate layer.
I duplicated the desaturated layer and inverted it.
I changed the blend mode to color dodge.
I went to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and I adjusted the slider to the right...personal preference, I suppose, as to how far to go.
Last step:
I went to the background copy and erased the lenses on the glasses.
That's it!
I remember seeing some effect similar to this somewhere on a different site, but I can't find it. I tried my best to remember the instructions, so I am not sure if I left anything out or not.
Maybe someone with more creative talent and experience can add something to this to make it even better!
Let me know if anyone does come up with anything to add to these instructions!
Oh, and Denise, the reflection off the glasses is just beach stuff..probably a colorful towel near my niece.

I went back and tried it one more time and erased some more areas on the photo (background copy) to see how it looked, and I believe I like this version better. I adjusted the opacity of the eraser according to the look that I wanted to achieve.
May not be my best work, but I finally got back to being motivated after a bit of a hiatus from my learning here!

Hi Sela
I'm so glad you're feeling creative again. I think I like this one more also. I think it's more her personality showing through, too. Very well done.
