View Full Version : vent

I just needed to vent. All the printer troubles I have had, I went out and bought a new HP to replace the stupid Epson. I wasn't sending the Epson back half full of ink so today finished off the ink and took the computer off my desk to replace it with the new HP. I measured and the HP is wider but not too much wider, or so I thought! It won't fit on my desk!! Another 1/4 and it would have been okay. :x Now I guess I'll have to find something else for it to sit on beside my desk!

Speaking of the Epson being out of ink, that was actually a lie. It's out of 2 colours but the black is half full. Being true to form, Epson's don't allow you to print even text if an ink cartridge is empty!! Another frustration.

Pauline is not having a good day!!

It's a heat wave out there today and maybe I should just leave this room and sit outside!!! :x

Pauline,
I used to have an epson, i used to trick it into thinking i had put a new cartridge in. Just put the old one back in and it would print a few more.Don't know if you can do that with your model, might be worth a try.

Pauline,

Can you find a piece of 1/4" plywood or Plexiglass and cut it to the approx. size of your printer and let it support the hang-over. I had to add an extra side shelf to my desk for my scanner. I fastened it to the underside of the edge of the desktop and support the other side with a leg.

Pauline, my printer sits up on the file cabinet...no room on the desk here either.

Today is just not my day. Had my whole replied typed up and lean on a bottom on the keyboard and everything disappeared. :x

Kt, I doubt this printer would fall for the trick as it's a new one. They microchip the darn things and that's why they won't work. I find it extrememly suspicious that I have replaced the ink in this printer 3 times and each time, all the colours were out of ink virtually at the same time. My old hp would continue to print on the other colours for a long time. I think that with the Epson, once one colour is out it triggers the other cartridges except black to say the same thing!

Rich, unfortunately you idea won't work as my printer needs to fit into a cubby. The desk would be big enough, but the 'whole' were the printer has to slid into isn't wide enough!

Jodi, the filing cabinet idea, is one I thought of. I have a small 2 drawer filing cabinet with my paint carosel on it, that I guess I will have to move and use! Such a pain in the butt. That will even be a tight squeeze and I will have to turn it sideways. This printer is 18.5 inches wide!

Pauline, if you saw my little shoebox cave I think you might be happy with what you have  I would die for one of those big office rooms I see on the boob toob....the ones that actually have room for even a sofa ! If anyone here has an office room like that ....dont tell me about it...!!

Will a living room work! lol   Pauline don't worry about the printer everything will get sorted out. I have a Canon Pixma and I love it even though the dang slide scanner broke on me.... (grr windows xp) I can't blame it, the slide scanner came out in 1982 or something around that nature, it was meant for the DOS or like windows 95 and the update from the site doesnt do crap! Just relax everything will be OK!

Thomas, ask Santa for a slide scanner. The new stuff out is so much better and so much cheaper.

Jodi, you would hate me then. I don't have room for a couch or anything, but this room is dedicated to my crafts. 1 wall has my desk on it and the other 2 walls with shelving for my painting, and the 3rd wall has a 6 ft long (cluttered with stuff) table that I use for painting on and a shelf above it. I have filled one book shelf full of painting books out in the hall and have 7 magazine boxes full of painting magazines in this room as well as all my new PS books!! It's getting crowded!!

If I didn't paint, I could put a couch in here. I would make it a pull out for those horrible snoring nights!! But, I have invested far too much money and have far too much raw inventory to give up painting completely. No more buying for it though.

Pauline, what part of " don't tell me about it !! " Did you not understand ??

My art supplies are scattered from one end of the house to the other....where I can find a spot. Well maybe not that bad...but at least devided between 3 rooms. We just don't have the 'space' here :( ...story of my life

Don't feel bad Jodi. In order to get this room, we have 3 bedrooms in the basement! Our house is very small! There is not a spare inch of space anywhere. My knitting wool is in bins in my son's closet. The Christmas decorations are in another kids closet!! My husband has his exercise bike in our small bedroom, and his weight lifting thingy in the laundry room.! I figure someone will be moving out soon??

Jodi-I'm in the same situation as you-stuff all over the place  A room like Pauline has is a MAJOR fantasy of mine

Someday...

Cheer up Pauline :D :D it'll all work out...I've heard that being aggravated reduces the flow of creative juices...can't have that!

Pauline, apart from the bedrooms downstairs sounds pretty close to my dwellings...

"I've heard that being aggravated reduces the flow of creative juices...can't have that!"

....you don't say
 indeed so....I try to laugh at myself to make it all better....that's alot better than someone laughing 'at' me !

What really pisses me of are those ' Clean Sweep' shows on TLC...those people that have humongous rooms just filled with 'stuff ' ...a room that can't even use because it's got so much stuff<junk> in it !! That boils me ! I WISH I HAD ROOMS THAT BIG !!!!

Pauline,

I'm another one. The fabric depot is in the spare room closet, my weaving & needlework yarns are in my studio closet. The studio is a small room off the kitchen and I have a studio annex in the basement. I comandered 1/3 of the basement before my husband did.  (He didn't have any hobbies then.) And then there's the front room with my sewing maching...

Jodi

How right you are! And God knows I give myself a few laughs at my own expense!!

Aagghh-that show! You're right! First off who has an extra room to fill up to the ceiling like that? And I would die of embarrassment to have someone even see a room like that-never mind put it on national TV   !

Truthfully my cellar kind of looks like that-but I'm gonna clean it-really...soon...really...

:P
