Hi everyone,

I hope you are all still in the mood for some creative homework given the latest news.

A big thanks to everyone who participated last week. We had some fantastic images.

As always this assignment is open to EVERYONE who is reading the forum.
Please join in and share your images.
If you see an image you like and would like to comment or have a question, here is the link to the accompanying comment thread (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?p=329148#post329148)

Have fun! :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week the assignment is an oil painting effect.
http://www.webdesignstudien.de/oldtutorials/027oilpainting.html
It's probably best to start with your image ready edited (levels, sharpening, crop etc) and when viewing the images, please do look at the full size not just the thumbnail to get the effect.
Note – in elements (PSE5) to desaturate the image
Enhance > adjust colour > remove colour or Shift Ctrl U
Feel free to tweak the settings anywhere you choose.
Look forward to seeing your pictures :)
Here's a couple I did earlier :D
I found the effect works well on images with quite large areas of colour, can be a bit harder to see if all the colour areas are small and detailed.
I like this one a lot...
http://www.pixentral.com/hosted/1Hl1FljsanWfft0x6QlB8gCsrj9R1_thumb.jpg (http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1Hl1FljsanWfft0x6QlB8gCsrj9R1)
I had to do a bit of painting (Color Blend Mode) as the resulting skin tone was too green for my taste.
Here's another try. only took a few minutes to do. A year ago would have taken half the day! Thanks for the work.
Lisa, I'm always in the mood for something new to learn. This is one feature I REALLY hope transfers to any new Forum home!
This was so quick and easy! Here is mine.
I couldn't resist doing another. This is the other half of "The Twins" with her mommy. Her brother is in the preceding picture with her aunt.
Finally had a chance to check out the homework assignments. Thank God this first one (for me) was a simple one!!
I don't know if the picture is big enough. It is linked to my .Mac server.
Thanks.
A lot of possibility for experimentation. Thanks, Lisa!
