Lisa, I like yours, especially the flower. Thanks for taking time to find this tutorial for us.
Rusty, my second one looked really green too so I used Color Dodge instead of Darken.
Larry-the dog turned out well with this technique.

Did anyone else find that angel baby kind of scary?
My photo doesn't look like the rest of yours, which are great. It was just too grainy no matter what I did so it's very splotchy. I used lighten (I think) instead of darken then bumped up saturation afterwards with an adjustment layer.
Larry, I'm still at the stage where these things take me a while. I think your fox worked out great.

Rusty, I'm glad you like this technique, the portrait looks great :), the guy whose tut it is recommends experimenting with the blending modes so he probably found the same that some pictures or certain colours work better than others or get stronger.

Larry - Brer Fox looks pretty cool! (I read too much Enid Blyton as a child  ).

I think the advantage of a quick tut this week is we get chance to read what else is going on ;)

Martha - your portraits are lovely.

Coco - cute picture, I wonder if you could mask out the effect over the baby's face to avoid the effect being splotchy there?
I thought the example looked spooky.

Bill - it works great on the car,

My second attempt worked better. Using hue/sat and levels adjustment layers before the merge and after the dry brush I got more what I was looking for. This time I think I used the screen blending mode.

Yes, I like it better too :)
and thanks for sharing how you made a difference.
I think that is the key with all these assignments or tuts, follow the instruction to start, tweak along the way and if it isn't satisfactory, experiment until you are happy :)

That little poodle belongs to my husband's sister. She is a spoilt little thing, but she is cute!

Smiles - pretty butterfly picture and it looks great with the technique. :)

Toni - yeah, both look good to me :) but you're right it seems different outcomes depending on the starting pic.

Jo - looks lovely on the flowers :)

Thanks for sharing

Hi Lisa,

Thanks. I bookmarked the directions and will do that next time I need to post an image. I am still learning how to resize to be in conformance with the requirements.

Looks like I can learn a lot by doing some of these homeworks.

Julie,

the tulips look great and I agree with Jo, the cross stitch would go well on them too :)
