Is there a way to easily print CD labels within Photoshop Elements. I don't want to have to use the special software that comes with the Avery labels that I buy. Thanks, Sheri

I haven't found any CD label templates. However, many CD labeling kits I've seen come with a manual that specifies the dimensions of the label. You could create one in Elements if needed using View > Rulers. Hope this helps.

You should have a look at this software... Might be just the answer for you?...

I have become gun-shy about gummed labels on CD's or DVD's - having read a lot of information about the labels causing deterioration in the data layer. I always thought the data was on the backside of a disk but it is on an upper layer. DVD's are not so fragile but have some problems also. The professional disks use a different labeling method.
I have now copied some of my older CD's on to new disks and I only buy good name-brand disks. I use an approved pen to label the contents now.
Here is a link to just one article but if you do a google search there are many more.
Does anyone else have any information on this or is this just another scare that tends to grow?

Mary, I had heard of a user who said not to use labels at all. Apparently, there could be a possibility of the labels causing damage to the drive while spinnin a million miles an hour in there. Something about the glue type adhesive will disperse from the edges. I really don't know but it definietly kept me away from the idea. The new Epson R printers will print on CD's ...wonder how well that holds up.

I can't say that I fancy putting a CD in the printer :) ... knowing my luck it would eat it :)

I have the little Epson R200 and it does a good job printing on printable CD's... Painfully slow though....
I think all the talk about labels causing damage to CD drives are a bunch of bunk... Sure technically it's possible but I would think if it was a serious enough problem they wouldn't make CD labels...
I for one have used many of CD's with labels and I've never had a CD drive go bad no from a label anyhow... Plus the look of a marker just doesn't cut it for me....

I would usually agree with your point except they still sell cigarettes and they are proven to be a serious problem and dangerous.

aphillips, ya I would if the eBay url listing didn't change every week.
Of course i could just go into my profile every week and change the url....but will I remember to do so ? hmmmm, that is another question.
thanks for your input tho.....appreciate it !

The URL given above will not change.... The listing URL does but the URL above is the URL to a list of what you have for sale and that URL does not change week to week.... Notice when you click on that link above it takes you to a listing of what you offer not the actual listing itself...
It's O.K. how it is I found you... But a one click option would be easier.... No biggie....
