Ctrl J to copy.
Ctrl+Shift+U to remove color.
Ctrl J to copy the black and white layer. On this layer Ctrl I to invert.
Change the blend mode on inverted layer to Color Dodge.
Go to Filter, Other, Minimum. I used 4 pixels or so.

Now go back to original layer( the one with color).
Ctrl J to copy.
Drag that layer to the top and reduce the opacity.
Merge the top three layers so you're left with two layers.
Ctrl J to copy.
Go to Filter, Artistic, Poster Edges.
Play with the opacity until you get something you like.

Thank you Anita, can't wait to give this a try. I love the poster edge effect and use it often.
In peace and light,
Mary

Hi Anita,
I enjoyed viewing your photos and was interested in the technique that you employed in the Sketch Effect tutorial. I tried it several times but continue to run into the same problem and that is, my image goes white when I click on the Color Dodge.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

It's supposed to go white. When you apply the filter, you'll see the sketch appear-like magic! This is such a neat effect for so many types of images!

Thank you Es. I got a private message from another member here about my Lilly being a winner. I didn't even check to see who won on Monday like I usually do, so this was a big surprise for me. Thanks for also alerting me.
