I know we have had a couple of creations already and I don't mean to steal anybodys thunder.
I just thought it would be nice to have a thread dedicated to all our soldiers, past and present, living and passed.
I'll put in a mini creation I did, but any other way to say "Thank You .. We Will Remember" would be great.
Remember, we owe everything we have to these courageous people.

Great idea Gary, and great photos everyone. Here is mine. The Marine Corp symbol is a photo of a monument I took in Grand Haven and the smaller image I am still working on restoring is my Dad and Grandfather.

I did this in honor & in memory of my father & his 3 brothers. My father is top right. He is deceased & they are all still living. They were all in the Army during WWII all at the same time fighting overseas. The one on top left was prisoner of war. I was so proud of him & all my uncles. I went on 8th grade trip last year to Washington DC & we went to all the war memorials. It was so emotional to see each memorial but the WWII was the most emotional especially when I saw the WWII veterans dressed in their uniforms shaking hands, talking to everyone & taking pictures with the students. They are so proud to have served for our country. I am so thankful we have men like these....So patriotic to have been a part in keeping our freedom.
Thank you to all of our Veterans!
Christell

What a wonderful thread. I'm going to post 4 layouts. Here is the first. I did this at another site with one of my kits and it was a bit of a tribute to my son-in-law who is serving in Iraq.

... and here is my tribute. Its one I did last year and is dedicated to my Father's youngest brother who died aboard HMS Albatross during WWII. He was 19 and is buried at sea.

This one is of a young boy called Alex whose father died in Basra, Iraq.
Photo from the web at the Dedication of our new Armed Forces Memorial.
Alex is proudly wearing his Dad's Medals.
I make no apology for using the same paper that I used in my previous tribute to the fallen.
Kev.

Thanks to all who have posted and reposted earlier ones.

Remember, it doesn't have to be a collage or creation .. just a way to express your thanks.
We have quite a few people here with familiy and friends serving or who have served and hopefully they can point them here or at least pass on the word.:)

Nancy

Thanks for the bump.:)

On a side note.....
I think I will be attending my first Ceremony tomorrow.

I can't really explain it, but Rememberance Day has always been important to me. I truly feel I owe a debt to these fine people.
I don't come from a military family, and, to the best of my knowledge, I have only had one relative in any service (before I was born) and he survived.
My dad was a kid through the bombings in Germany and he doesn't talk about it.
So I have no real connection... other than what I have now.

So THANKS TO ALL.

Gary: I usually go to the ceremony at the elementary school my son attends. This year it was held on Friday and I wasn't able to go because my son was home sick. (Though that may have been just as well, because he was going to have a really tough time memorizing "In Flanders Field" in two languages!) I do plan to go to the National Military Cemetery tomorrow. I don't know if I'll have any pictures to post, but possibly...
