How to Upgrade to 6.0

I see where Costco has version 6.0 bundled with some plug-ins. If I am currently running version 5, can I just load 6.0 without losing tags, etc. or should I purchase the upgrade only?

I don't have version 6 and did not plan to upgrade until I saw the costco bundle which includes OnOne's Essentials for elements. In the Sacramento area the combo is available for less than $70 starting November 17th.

OnOnes essentials is a suite which has four plug-ins. The highlight for me is cut it out which is a selection tool that makes the selection based on colors you select or eliminate . If an area contains both values you can "decontaminate" thereby selecting only the values you requested. The frame it plug-in has over 500 frames and the make it bigger plug-in allows you to expand an image so that it will print larger without a significant loss of quality (we will see).

Both the upgrade and new version simply load a full copy of the later software. The only difference is in the pricing.

You should be able to transfer your catalog without losing tags. PSE6 contains a conversion routine that should handle the job of translating your v5 catalog into v6 format. I said "should" because some people have encountered difficulties, and there are some limitations. If problems with the conversion would be a showstopper, then you might consider loading the trial version first.

How did you learn of the Costco pricing starting Nov 17th - did you receive a flyer in the mail or at the store?

I also live in California so I want to investigate for my local Costco.
