I was up at the Willamette National Cemetary as a Hero was being buried and as was leaving the cemetary I saw this hillside of graves and took the image.

John,
I really like this one. It has a mood of sombre respect but at the same time an air of peace. A fitting place for fallen heroes to rest.

Kev,

Those were the same kind feelings I had when visited their last resting place.

The day I took the picture there was a soldier (MSgt) at the graves taking some photos of Fallen Hero's to send to familes on the east coast of USA that could get out to the cemetary. What a kind thing to for a family that has lost a loved one that was their serving their country.

John, That's a wonderful picture. We recently attended my uncle's funeral ceremony at Willamette National Cemetery. It is a beautiful, serene setting for the final resting place of our departed. Thanks for the reminder.

Chirstell, Judy& Gail,

Please you liked the image Fallen Hero's.

The day I took shot the image I was so impressed with the number of folks gathered at different locations in the cemetary to remember the heros resting there. People taking time of their busy days to remember is so special.

John, I agree with the others on the mood your image projects. And it is a very fitting image to post with Veteran's Day being only a week away.

John, a very peaceful but sad photo. It's very appropriate with Veterans Day coming up. We need to always remember those who have made the supreme sacrifice for our freedom.
