I out in the country this morning and this very old rusty tractor with a flat tire caught my eye. The old farmer was working on a another old tractor that appeared to have more rust on it than this one. I used Graffi's B&W photo tint and Old Romance actions with the image.

Kev, I glad you like the tractor image.
The old farmer was so friendly and was so pleased I wanted to take a picture of tractor, he calls Buddy. Next week I taking him a print of "Buddy" and also having coffee with him. Now that is what I call having fun.

John, I love the tractor! What color is it? Can you do one with everything b/w except the tractor and either slightly under or oversaturate it?

What a fantastic job John! Doesn't B/W just do justice to those antiques!

Jerrilyn,
Here is the tractor with color on a B&W background. When I go have coffee with the farmer I'm taking this one and the original. Hope you like this image.

John,
if the farmer loves his tractor enough to call him Buddy, he's going to be delighted with the prints.

John, I love them both and I know the farmer will be so pleased! Your interest in photographing his tractor will show him the respect you have for the work he's done all these years. Is today the day that you were to have coffee with him? Let us know how it went; we'd like to hear more about him.
Although my parents lived all their married lives in Louisiana, my dad was born on a large farm in South Dakota. Until his death a couple of years ago, my great uncle, a spry little man of 90 years, farmed those 2000 acres with his son and grandson. Even at that age, his eyes were a clear blue like the prairie sky and his pioneer spirit was contageous.

Anita & Jerrilyn,
Just to update you with the latest on the rusty tractor. I had coffee this morning with a wonderful old farmer named Bud. He shared many great stories about his life raising corn and tomatoes. He has been farming that piece of ground for 50+ years. Oh the stories he shared that I took away with me was the one about his favorite tractor.
Bud said that so much of his day was riding on tractor he named it Buddy. When the tractor was ready for the junk man he decided to just let it set over by the house in retirment. Bud was not lost for words once we sat down over coffee.
I left both pictures that I posted on the forum for him and Bud appeared very pleased with images. We plan to have coffee next week so he can continue telling about it life on the farm. What an amazing individual.

Looks just like some of my Daddy's old Case tractors. None of them have brakes, but he still uses them here on the farm and he is 84 years old. I have taken some pictures of them over the years as well, and plan to do a sketch of one of them and print on canvas to frame. I'm glad someone else sees the beauty in these old work horses - and takes the time to stop and visit with old farmers. :) BLESS YOU FOR THAT!
