Spent all day making a slide show (:o). And yes it works on the TV and the computer BUT there is no sound. I spent ages choosing the music too but it just isn't there. Should I be doing something specific other that just adding the tracks?

Since you put this issue in a new thread and I have not had time to go back to your other posts to check, I am assuming:
You created your slideshow in Photoshop Elements 5
What did the preview look like and sound like like there?
How did you output it to Premiere Elements 3? Send To Premiere Elements, Save As A File, ??
In Premiere Elements 3, what did the Preview look like and sound like there just before the burn to disc via Burn Dialog?
What is the format of the music that you used in the slideshow?
How long was this product (hours)?
I am assuming that, aside from this slideshow, you get sound, ex, say a store purchased DVD?
Let us start there. Aside from some glitches, you seem to be making good progress as you go through the program.

:)Right here goes- I followed instructions for 'Burn to Disc'
DVD high quality
PAL
Save Windows Media File *wmv
Opened in Premier.
Ordinary music from CD ripped to computer.
Just tried playing my saved file again and the music plays!
Just a thought - how loud does the music have to be when recording? I had it quite low. Also why did it take over 2 hours to burn? Is this normal?

The sound that you hear in the Preview of the slideshow, either in Photoshop Elements 5 or Premiere Elements 6, should be around the level that you expect to have for the final product. In your case where you have sent over a wmv, make sure the sound level in Photoshop Elements 5 is set to what you expect to hear in the end product. In Photoshop Elements 5, the volume control should be in the Properties Panel to the right after you have clicked on the audio clip in the audio bar to select it.
Are you using the PAL setting because you are outside of a USA location where NTSC would be required?
Before we get into any heavy stuff with audio, maybe do a mini run to rule in or out that you set the volume level too low in Photoshop Elements 5. If that approach does not work, we will go to plan B.

Add on...
Burning times vary depending on a lot of factors, starting with content of slideshow? The time that you mentioned sounds within reason.
Before you went to the DVD Mode, with your project on the Timeline, did you see a red line across the length of the video? If so, did you Render in Edit by pressing Enter? If so, how long did that take? That can take a long time if required. Guideline: red line across, Render; green line across, OK.

I have done 2 more slide shows - both came out with no music on. Both about 16 minutes duration. Both took about 3 hours burn time. Yet when I did one with only three slides as a test it came out with music.
As for red and green lines I haven't seen any! I did the slide show through 'create a slide show' then it transferred itself to Premiere where I just cliked 'burn to disc'. All very easy and simple - if only it works properly. What am I doing wrong?

Back to this question -
"What is the format of the music that you used in the slideshow?"
You say you used CD music ripped to a computer. What is the file format of that music - like is it a .mp3 file and what software was used for the rip to the computer? And if you know what parameters did you choose for the computer music file?
Also, can you play that music file from within the Organizer ?
There are so many variations of music files, that attempting to play a music file from within the Organizer will help to establish the probability that it will work in a slide show.
And I am curious, did you use exactly the same music file in your slide show with 3 slides that came out OK?

Yes it was exactly the same music from a Tom Jones CD which I ripped using Windows Media Player. It played through the Organiser and also through Premier when I previewed the Slide show.

Still trying to narrow down the cause, so some more questions-
What can you tell us about the format - is it an .mp3 file? If not, what format?
Can you be more specific about the title of the window when you were doing the preview of the slide show in Premiere Elements? I am trying to match up to exactly the same function that you used.

WMA music file.
1. Organizer - click create slide show from drop down menue
2. Slide show preferences box - choose duration etc. then full screen with toolbar
3 Click Add Media (white+on green)
4. Add media from files
5. Add music from organizer
6. Click Output to Media choose Burn to disc DVD & PAL
Small box appears telling me to save file and it does it for me - writing WMV file. Then opens in Premiere Elements 3. My slide show appears in the bottom left had box. Theres a small screen where I can preview the slide show and Burn DVD.
Click Burn DVD
Everything goes ahead but no sound when disc created.
I have just tried another with only 3 clips and this time there was no music on this one!
Sorry it's a bit long winded but have tried to list step by step.:o

Following word for word of your description, this is my list of possible hang ups
Possibilities
A. Resource problems
B. Music Format Problem
C. Rendering Problem
1. When using the Burn To (DVD) option in Photoshop Elements, I have noticed that Premiere Elements has a nasty habit of opening with the DVD options when the wmv slideshow arrives. Behind the DVD dialog that is opened, you can clearly see the transferred video on the Timeline needing Rendering (red line across the entire length of the video). Check that out. If that is the case, when you find yourself in Premiere Elements, close the DVD Mode, go to Edit, Render by pressing Enter (will take time), and then reopen the DVD Mode and continue.
2. Ripping mp3 vs wma. As you have indicated, ripping legally using Windows Media Player usually yields the audio in .wma format. Have you tried to rip the music legally using iTunes to get mp3 version instead?
It is somewhat more involved, but this is the way it works for me:
Go to iTunes, Edit/Preferences/Advanced Tab/Importing Tab and make sure the set is to mp3.
Next, go into iTunes/Library and via File/Import, import your .wma file into the iTunes library. That wmv file then be a mp3 version in that Library.
Right click the mp3 version in the Library, select copy and then paste that into My Music Folder on the hard drive. That will be your mp3 source for your Photoshop Elements slideshow via get audio from files and folders.
3. Another thought which is probably top of the list. How much RAM and free hard disc space do you have? When did you defragment your computer last? Did you say that you have Windows XP or Vista? What is the brand and make of the players that are giving you the video, but no audio? Did you confirm that they do play audio with stored purchased DVD-VIDEOs?
A lot of things to think about. I would start with computer resources. I will think about this some more and be back in a few hours in see what has happened.
Good luck.
