Missing box next to thumbnail?

I bought a book online about mastering brushes. The author is using PSE2 and I have PSE5. In one of the exercises, I noticed that on her screen, she has an additional row between the 'eye' icon and the thumbnail that has a circle inside a square. Would anyone know what this is and if I can display it somehow in PSE5? I'd appreciate the help.

Hi Connie ...

You can't display that in PSE5 Adobe change the way that you link items and that was the old method of doing it :)
