My longest time seems to be 5 sec to view. Is there any way to increase this? I don't think it's long enough. I used between 8 and 10 seconds in Nero.:(

If you are in Photoshop Element 6,
Storyline (also known as Timeline) Slideshow Editor
Underneath still, is a time (should say default 5 sec)
Clicking on that time should pop up the options for changing the still duration.
If you are in Premiere Elements 4,
1. Go to Edit/Preferences/General. The Still Image Default Duration is 150 frames. So, at 30 frames per second, that translates into 5 seconds. Therefore, change that to 240 frames for 8 seconds or 210 frames for 7 seconds Still Duration. This affects all your incoming stills and will stay that way until you change it.
OR
2. For an individual still on the Timeline, right click the Still, from the pop up menu select Time Stretch, and set the still duration.
Hope that helps. Please post with any additional questions.

In PSE5, although the dropdown duration list only goes up to 5 secs, you can type any number you want into the field itself (up to 99 seconds, I believe).

Originally I thought that you were using the new versions, Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 3. It would now appear that I was mistaken and that you are using Photoshop Elements 5 and Premiere Elements 3.
In this case, just an add on adjust for still duration....
1. Edit/Preferences/General is about the same.
2. Time Stretch via right click of still on the Timeline is about the same.
3. Check this out in the 3 version...I think that you should be able to click on the More button of the Media Panel to get a pop up with the still duration adjustment option.
