PE5 won't open my 40D raws from my cfcard

I've only had the camera a few days and it was used just 300 clicks but when I try to open my card raws I get the following message:

Cannot open E:\DCIM\100CANON\_MG_0592.CR2 because it is the wrong type of file.

I can open up these files in LR then do some editing and then finish up in PE5 but I'm wondering why I can't open the files directly into PE5??

Always have done so with my 20D and IIN---weird---

Do I have to reformat my card somehow---beyond camera formatting??

JD - You need to download and install the latest Adobe Camera Raw plug-in; it supports the Canon 40D.
