I want to thank Dave Cross for Lesson 5 in "Portrait Retouching." Thank you! I know it might seem lame, but I never understood the concept of the layer mask until this lesson. Call me dense!

What a valuable tool with endless possibilities. I don't mean to rave on about this, but it's such a breakthrough for me!

I learned it a little while ago with a hue/sat adjustment layer... I felt the same way... just waaaaayyyyy to cool. The light went on for me and the layer mask concept.
