upgrade from Elements 4 to 6

How do you move all the tags etc from Elements 4 to Elements 6

It should automatically ask you for an OK to upgrade your Organizer catalog to v6, but apparently that does not always happen automatically, so see this Adobe technical document for instructions

If you convert you catalog all you tags will be converted too.

To convert the catalog go:
File
Catalog
Convert (there is a button on the top right hand side of the popup box)
Select your catalog and it will be converted automatically for you.

Make sure you are in the correct location for where you want your catalogs to be. I have mine in a custom location but that's me.

Make sure you repair your PSE4 catalog in the PSE4 organsier and that you reconnect all missing files before you try to convert.

The conversion will actually make a complete new copy of the catalog for PSE6 and you will still be able to access your PSE4 catalog. You can not have both versions of PSE open at the same time.

I upgraded from 4 to 6 and I really like it.

What I did was to first create a test catalog in PSE4 just so I knew what I was doing and then I deleted it later. I just imported some images (in my case one scrapbooking collection), very quickly created some tags and an album.

I didn't have any problems importing my catalogs. I have 13000 tagged images in my Digiscrap catalog and only about 3000 photos in my photos catalog.
