Cannot drag from shapes in Elements 5

In trying to do some things in Elements 5 you are supposed to drag from shapes. One is trying to drag the copyright symbol or to use crop shapes cannot drag the shape. For some reason when trying to do things that require this I cannot get them into the photo. Does anyone have any sugestions why this is happening or what I may be doing wrong?

Are you trying to drag the shape from the list into the picture? That will not work. You have to select the shape you want and drag the curser across the photo to get the shape you want onto the photo.
