I tried to recreate the steps I used in doing this football picture. It is not the exact steps but the closest I could get. The 2nd picture I tried the same steps & looks pretty close.

*FYI- I am using PSE 5.0

Color sketch adjusting sharpness tut:

Ctrl. J
Enhance>adjust color>adjust hue/saturation.
Move saturation slider all the way to left. OK.
Ctrl. J
Ctrl. I
Blend mode: Color dodge
Filter>blur>gaussian blur> (7-15) OK.

Click on 2nd layer
Click on eraser tool & erase where you want color to be.
Adjust opacity at top to amount of color you want before you erase.

Click on background layer.
Go to layer>new>layer from background. OK
Enhance>adjust sharpness.
Settings:
Amount 500%
Radius 36-58%
Check box More refined. OK

Click on Middle layer.
Enhance>adjust sharpness.
Use same settings as above.
Can merge all layers when finished.

Hope it works for you.Let me know if anyone comes up with anything else.

Thanks for posting this. I have the perfect picture in mind to try it on!

It's a busy time with family birthdays and the Christmas season fast approaching but I'm looking forward to trying this tutorial... I'll be sure to post my results when I have it completed. :)
