I'm taking a fun photo class at our local community college I thought I'd tell you about.
It's called "Photo Rally". Based on auto rallies, you're given a set of not-very-clear directions and photos that should be shot at each stop. It's all done on foot throughout the campus. The class is just 3 sessions, the first is instructional ... photo techniques, rally rules etc. The second session is independant where each of us takes our rally sheet and does the photography. Third class will be a comparison of how we all interpreted not only the directions, but also the shots. We were encouraged to use manual settings for our shots.
If you're still reading this, I'll give you a little excerpt from the rally sheet and show you my my shots. (D = direction. P = photograph.)
D. Turn left, down hill.
P. Take a photograph of where dogs love to leave messages.

D. Follow the sidewalk and go left up the stairs.
P. Photograph the plea for 'being able to stop quickly', with the maple tree behind it.

D. Go through the white traffic gates.
P. Shoot the place where the tools sleep, framed with flora and guidance systems.

D. Enter at the "Do Not Enter".
P. Silhouette the pine branches and cones, with a celestial backdrop.

.... anyway, you get the idea.
I'm lucky enough that our community college would treat a learning experience in a fun and lighthearted manner, but it would probably be fairly easy for any of us to do with friends as well.
Sorry for the very long post ... hope it plants a seed.
