I purchased Elements 1.0 for $99 and then upgraded to 2.0 when it came out at the upgrade price of $79.

Is the new Elements 4.0 worth the additional $79 upgrade? When is 5.0 scheduled to come out?

Premiere Elements 4 was just issued the end of September. Typically, they upgrade in the fall of the year.

I bought the version to see if there would be fewer bugs than the last version. I have had some error messages crop up, but ATR on this forum and the folks over at muvipix.com seem to have resolved them. Try the tutorials here and the muvipix.com forum also for some tutorials. That might resolve your issues.

My only downside with this version is that their troubleshooting information states it has some problems working if you have a previous version installed (even though the marketing stuff denies this). Also, they have changed the Elements V6 database so that you can have 100,000 images in the catalog, then state that Premiere has some problems with large catalogs in Elements. I have 30,000 images, so I am keeping Elements 5 for my large catalogs and importing only things I want to interface with Premiere 4. Not an ideal situation to my way of thinking.

Are you referring to Photoshop Elements for Mac?
