Recently, when bringing up a new image from the photo bin, it creeps up the screen with a blinking boundary box. It takes several seconds for the photo to open in the work space. Have I activated something I'm not aware of?

Wow, almost 2 hours and no comments. I guess most folks are like me, scratching heads and wondering what's going on.
I have never experienced this. However, when I was working on a monster poster project this summer, things really, really slowed down. That PSD image file was huge!
Were you doing anything different? Were any of your files unusually large?

Hi Rusty,
They are large but all my files are large and these are not more sounusual. This "blinking box" has no image in it until it gets in position on the screen. Another problem is that sometimes my tools don't work. I check to see if my caps are locked or there is a selected area I need to deselect but that's not the case. I can't figure out why this happens. Sometimes I have to click on various tools till I see that I can adjust my brush and then go back to the one I want.
I recently got a new computer with Vista. Do you think that can be the problem?
