Is it possible to export just one or two photos from the organizer to Lightroom?
Or to import one or two photos to Lightroom from Organizer?

Yes.....

Open up both LR and Elements Organiser and have them both visible. Drag and drop an image(s) from Elements to LR. It will then pop up the LR import dialog.

Going the other way isn't quite so easy. You can just select the image(s) in LR and then Export them to a folder that Elements is watching. When you open up Elements it will detect the new file(s) and import them.

Thanks but couldn't manage to have them open at the same time. What I did try was to copy the image to the desktop and then click on paste and then went to Lightroom and imported from the desktop. Using the desktop made it easy because I didn't have to know the actual file location of the photo in Organizer.

Pat.....

What you're doing sounds a little cumbersome really. You're going to have a cluttered desktop and duplicate images.

I'm not sure why you couldn't open them both at the same time but even that is not necessary. If you can see the desktop Icon for LR or have the Icon on the Quick Launch bar just drag and dropped the images from Elements Organiser onto the LR icon.

LR is a Photoshop product that allows you to manage and process RAW images. It has a much smoother and quicker workflow than Elements, in which you would have to use ACR.

You work entirely within LR to Process and Print directly from the RAW image. You can also make basic slideshows and web pages. It has an Organiser capability but my opinion is that Elements does a better job on that aspect.

It can work with JPEGs, TIFs and PSDs but it's strength is in RAW processing.

As for 'do you need it' - only you can answer that one :)

There is a 30 day trial download if you want to try it but it's not overly intuitive to use and you need to play with it seriously to be able to judge if it does what you want. If you plan to take lots of RAW images and need to quickly process them then LR will do a much better job than Elements - plus it has more tools available to use.

Hope this helps

Colin,

Thanks again for responding. I fiddled around with Lightroom and PSE and did get them open at the same time. It seemed that Lightroom was either open full tilt or in the Quick Launch Bar----a really basic error on my part.
At any rate it worked great. Thanks again.
