Listing of categories and tags?

I have just upgraded (?) from PSE 4 to PSE 6. Unfortunately, Adobe PSE 6 did not recognize that I had version 4 installed and it didn't bring over the categories and tags that I had created in PSE 4. I need to know if there is a way to get a listing from PSE 4 so I can recreate the categories in PSE 6. It did recognize the tags on the existing photos, but when I imported them into PSE 6 it stuffed them all into one category.

Alternatively, is there a file in PSE 4 that would be the same in PSE 6 that I can just copy over.

Any insight that anyone can provide will be graciously appreciated. Thanks.

You need to find your PSE 4 catalog file and open it from within PSE6. It should automatically convert to a 6 catalog.

It sounds like what you did was import your photos into a new blank PSE6 catalog which would only have the info on the images that had written tags to file.

Once you find the right catalog you shouldn't have to reimport any photos or recreate any categories etc.

Like Karin said PSE6 doesn't always find earlier catalogs automatically but File>Catalog, browse to the old catalog if it's not shown, and Convert will bring it into PSE6.
