atn files; how to use

I am trying to figure out how to use the "Frame" .atn files I downloaded today.

There is no ref to this file type in Help.

I never seem to get Help using the search terms I choose. ''

The index doesn't contain the word "Frame", which is weird. I searched on "style" which didn't produce results and a search on Frame only produced one result; and that had to do with framing an item in a picture, not the picture.

I've just come to expect poor results in my keyword searches in Help. :mad:

Are you trying to figure out where and how to install the atn files or how to use them within in elements or photoshop? Let me know and I can walk you thru it. Also, what os are you using XP/Vista?

I am currently using PSE4 with XP

I understand some of these files are Version specific? Is that true and how would I know?

yes it is true mike. If it only has atn it is meant for photoshop. There is some work around to get it to work in pse. I dont have details but check later i am sure others can give more specifics. There are a lot of actions that say they will work in pse. I think the atn file and a thumbnail must be present for it to work in pse. Try typing in pse actions and see if that helps your search.

It would appear they are Photoshop specific.

At this point I had better concentrate on moving from v4 to v5; or 6. I actually thought I had v5; don't ask me how that's possible...I'm old! :D

I am still not sure, after all I've read about v6 if I want to go there. OTH I'm not sure I want to pay for two upgrades either. :confused:
