Hi all,

I just got a new computer and monitor, and it needs to be calibrated. I know that Adobe Gamma is a poor excuse for good monitor calibration, but I just dumped too much money into a new 70mm-300mm lens to buy calibration software at this moment.

I know that when you install PSE5 it was supposed to install Adobe Gamma as well. I also understand that it should show up in your Control Panel so you can use it. It's not in my control panel, and I can't find it. Any suggestions??

I recall that PSE5 doesn't install it automatically but there should be a copy in the goodies folder on the CD or download package.

Check to see if your monitor came with calibration software. Some do these days. My new monitor did (just got it yesterday! :):):) ), but since I already have the SpyderII software installed on my computer I left off the stuff that came with the monitor other than the driver.

I think these instructions are very useful:

Thanks everyone.

Wendy, I do like those instructions, and will try tonight. I attempted to do it last night (keeping in mind I have an LCD monitor, so I'm starting at a disadvantage for Gamma) with very unsatisfactory results. However, Adobe Gamma isn't all that intuitive (I learned) so I likely did it completely wrong. I'll also look at the installation CD I got with my monitor, I never thought of checking there!
