Start Up

I've had Premiere Elements for quite awhile but haven't done anything with it. I primarily got it for slide shows with my photos. I really don't have movies clips. Can I use it for that and one a scale of 1-10 how difficult is it to use. My neighbor keeps telling me that IPhoto is such a breeze to use but I don't have a MAC. I really would like to use Premiere but need a tutorial that starts from the beginning.

What version of Premiere Elements do you have? Photoshop Elements?

Where have your slideshows been coming from... created and burned to disc completely in Premiere Elements OR created in Photoshop Elements and then sent over to Premiere Elements for burning to DVD-VIDEO or some other scenario?

If you have Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4, we could include in our discussion Photoshop Elements 6 Slideshow Editor now being able to handle video clips as well as stills.

A lot of possibilities, but more details.....

As for reading material: have you checked out the User Guide or PDF. They usually start from the beginning and more forward. Once you are ready, we could go step by step and/or you could post questions to specific blocks, if any, as you move through your project.

I have Premier 3 and PSE 5. I have never created a slideshow before so I am really a newbie and need to start with the basic. I would like some music behind whatever I do though. I will take a look at some of the other suggestions you mentions. Any additional comments are welcome. We just got back from Nova Scotia and I have some beautiful pictures and bought a CD with Maritime music for the background. I'm excited about putting it together.
