Hi all,
I just tried creating a new smart album to show only my "Camera RAW" files. But this new album shows .jpg files as well.
Here's what I did...
1) Selected New Smart Album;
2) Gave it a name;
3) Under "Search Criteria" I selected Any one of the following search criteria [or]
4) Selected File Type
5) Selected Camera Raw
6) Selected OK
When I view this album, 308 items found but I only have about 30 RAW files the rest are all .jpg. Why is it showing these .jpg files?
Under "Search Criteria" I also tried selecting All of the following search criteria [AND]. This did not help. Is there a way to view ONLY my RAW files?
Thank you.

I did the same thing and it worked but I used Filename ends with .NEF as the criteria and that just showed my RAW files (I have a Nikon). It also worked if I did what you did and selected File Type>Camera RAW. So I'm not sure what is happening in your case but you might want to try the Filename method.

I gave it a shot and I still get .jpg files with the "non match" symbol in the top left of the thumb nail.

Steve: I don't see anything like that but I have only briefly played with Smart Albums so don't know if there's an option to show "non-matching" as well. I just get options to either hide the matching or show the non matching. Maybe someone who's used it more than I have yet can help. But try the Options button and "Hide the results that do not match" and see if that gets rid of the jpegs.

Do you use stacks? I had this happen to me (not the same seach criteria) when I created a smart album to look for some files. I had images in the results that shouldn't have been there. Finally I realised that they had been added to a stack they shouldn't have been in. So it was showing the file from the stack that met the search criteria but was also showing the images from the stack that didn't. I removed them from the stack and all was good.

Thanks Sue. That was it. I removed my images from any stacks and it worked. Thank you very much. Too bad we can't have stacks AND smart albums too.

Hi - I have has the same problems and it comes down to how v6 handles albums and stack. This also effects searching of Tags.
1) If you add ANY photo from within a stack to an album, then v6 adds ALL photo's in the stack to the Album - you can see this by looking at the tags it adds - every picture gets the album tag.
2) However individual keyword tags can be added to individual pictures with a stack (as per v5) BUT if you try to search on a keyword (just check the box next to your tag) then every picture within the stack is presented (even though it has a "red icon" to show it didn't match. This doesn't happen in v5 (in v5 you only see the matching picture). The problem with the way that v6 does it is that I have some stacks of 100+ pictures and thus when searching I just can't find what I am looking for - and there is no filter to turn off seeing these non-matches.
I think that both are probably "bugs". I have gotten around point (1) by not using albums but instead setting up a Tag category called "Albums" and then adding album categories below - not ideal. For point (2) - well I go back to v5 !!!!
Cheers.
