I want to make a "target" - Like to shoot at....
Everytime I make circles with the custom shape tool, the thickness of the circle "line" gets fatter as the circle gets bigger. I want to make the thickness of the line the same no matter how big I make the circle....HOW????

Here is what I would do:
1. Make a new layer.
2. Use the elliptical marquee tool to draw a circle (hold the shift key to make it a circle, use the space bar to move it into position).
3. Choose edit->stroke and put in 50 pixels in the size field. You can ctrl-z to undo, and then try bigger/smaller size.
Repeat for each "circle" in the target.

Sam,
Make your circles with the Elliptical Marquee Tool. Hold the Shift key when drawing the circle. Next go >Edit >Stroke, choose any thickness in pixels and apply the stroke. Type CTRL-D (clears the previous selection) and draw the next circle. Stroke it with the same pixel size. And so on...

Let me throw in something I forgot. I'm making this target on a Turkey Image that is faded and in the background. When I use elliptical it makes a "solid" circle that blocks out the background image...kinda defeats the purpose. Also...each new circle covers the smaller inner circles. All I want is 5 circles (lines) over the image of a turkey and some numbers on the target. I thought this would be easy...now I'm in my 3rd day...geeze

If you use edit->stroke it should just outline the circle you drew with the elliptical marquee. The elliptical marquee is in the same tool set as the rectangular marquee - make sure you're not using the shape tool. (The marquee tools are up in the top 5 tools - the shape tools are toward the middle/bottom.)

Try using my instructions above. You will have a result that looks like this. I captured it before the last stroke was applied.

bigcrazy, you didn't hold down the shift key so you did not get perfect circles. Having held down the shift key would have given you perfect circles, if that's what you wanted.
Just a suggestion.

Glad you got it. It's frustrating when you aren't sure exactly how to do something.
