What is going on with the training web site? This site has been down 4 out of the last 5 times that I have tried to use it. I now see that additional classes are being offered. Would you not think that the number one priority would be to correct the serious problems this site has?

What are you having problems with?

I just checked the site and it appears to be working fine.

Let me know so I can forward problems to our webteam.

Thanks!

At this particular instant in time it is working. It was not 20 minutes ago.
When I click Watch for either Quicktime or Windows Media the down load of the vidio does not occur.

Hi there ...

... and welcome to the forum :)

I have just checked it out and it seems to be working fine now ... I haven't had any problems access the training.

Have you been able to view any of them before ... or is this something that has just happened?

One thing that could cause the video to not appear is a pop-up blocker. Over the last few weeks, turning the pop-up blocker off has fixed numerous people's problems when it comes to viewing the videos. You may want to give this a try. Hope it helps.

Hello Wendy

Thanks for your reply. I have learned much from your answers to others while lurking on this forum.

I have made several attempts to work through the lessons.
If I average it out, the site works perfectly about 1 out of 5 attempts.
As for the other 4 attempts one of the following happens.

1. Site will not respond even though I connect to it ( no 404 error ).

2. Site does respond, however, when I click "Watch" the video never downloads. This leaves either Windows Media Player or QuickTime with an open window trying to download the video.

The lessons I have managed to get have execlent material. Thats why the site failures raise the blood pressure so much.

Hi there ...

I certainly am not getting the same thing happening to me ... have you tried you Matt's suggestion of turning off any pop up blockers?

I'm sure that we will be able to help you sort it out ... :) ... so do let us know how you go on :)

Still trying to get the videos to download. Have tried the following with no luck.
1. Turn off popup blocker.
2. Turn off both software and hardware firewalls
3. Turn off anti-virus software.

The free video tutorials on the main side download and play fine with all three of the above items on. Any suggestions?

Having problems with Premiere Elements Day 5 video.
Trying to watch the vieo- I get an error message asking if I want to send or don't send then Explorer closes down.
All OK with Photoshop elements day 5.

Another issue is the success in saving the .mov files. I have Quick Time Pro v6 which should save the movie but doesn't. I upgraded to v7 and it vdoes sometimes. The only reliable way is into the cache as documented on this forum

Chris,

It doesn't say what type of error before closing down?

I'll have to check with the webteam, have you cleared your cookies recently?

That sometimes will fix weirdness.

Let me know :)

Tami-
Mornin'! While were on the subject, the office closed before Maureen was able to get to someone about my inability to log on to Dave's classes. Still no luck. She said she'd get back to me, and I'm sure she will, but I thought I'd remind you...

Still pining patiently

Thanks!

Hello Wendy

Thanks for your last suggestion. I have the latest version of Windows Media Player and QuickTime. The good news is that tonight I am able to access everything on the training site and the videos download just fine with both Windows Media Player and QuickTime. :D Thanks again for all your help!
