Has anyone been able to make 5.0 plug-ins work in 6.0? Specifically, Jodi Frye's frames.

Ron, I have not tried. Been just learning my way around 6 so that I can help my students. I still have 5 set up for the time being. I am using 6 and I like it alot, I just have not started doing my "critical" work on 6 yet. Probably in the next couple of weeks I will, when I am sure that I have no issues lurking around in 6.

Ron,

I do not have PSE6, but was going to suggest you email Jodi. I have her email if you want it. PM me for it.

I haven't actually tried the frames yet although I've used the backgrounds but I see no reason why they shouldn't work. There have been posts up in the general section on where to put add-ins in PSE6. The trickiest bit would be if you want to have a separate category for Jodi's frames because that requires some XML editing but in principle it should be feasible. I'm rather hoping that someone will write a routine that will automate the process and I suspect that will happen but it's beyond my computer skills to do it.

I still have PSE5 around and have been using that for some of the add-ins I use less frequently - although my main ones are all working fine in PSE6.

Just realised you don't actually need to install Jodi's frames in PSE6 if you don't want to. Just open the frame psd file you want and drag the image from the photo bin onto it. If you want to see what they look like add them to the Organizer and then open them from there (you can put them in an Album if you want)

Thank you all,
I did talk to Jodi and she said putting her stuff on 6 might present some problems. I think your ideas of keeping 5 open for a while have a lot of merit.
