Is there a way to set IE so that you wouldn't have to scroll left-right when viewing a webpage -- like it'll automatically wrap text to the next line? On another forum () I'm on, there seems to be a problem where those who use IE will have to scroll faaaaar to the right to read an entire post but those who use other browsers like firefox don't have to.

Not a major problem, it's just irritating sometimes.

Thanks!

I don't know if there is a way to fix that in IE. The easiest solution would be to change to a better browser...like Firefox.:D

One thing to try is changing your text size. Go to View -> Text Size and select a smaller text size. See if that helps.

Can't really say I've run into the problem with IE7 but I do use the zoom function (Ctrl + or -) or the zoom slider on the keyboard if you have one or the zoom tab at the bottom right for really big pages (or in my case mostly for reading very small text on normal pages :)).

Could be like Gene says you have the text size or the zoom set too high.

We have a wide screen monitor on both our desktop and our laptop. That solved the problem for most web sites, but it still happens once in a while.

adjust text size on the website you are viewing or try a highr screen resolution.

Thank you for all of the replies!

Yes, the easiest solution would be to switch to firefox...unfortunately for some online courses that I'm teaching, I pretty much have to stick to IE.

Gene and Russ, I would LOVE to get a new widescreen monitor!! :rolleyes:Hmmmm....I may need you both to speak to hubby for me.

Tony, didn't even think about the zoom (didn't even notice it there, honestly), I tried it and it works okay for those pages that are just too long horizontally. Unfortunately my eyes aren't the greatest so i have a hard time reading the text. My text size is on medium right now and I can't go any smaller without straining my eyes.

Oh well, like I said, not a big problem! Or...maybe I should make it a HUGE problem in order to get that new monitor.

Thanks again for all your help and suggestions. I knew I could count on you guys! :)

Firefox does have a plugin called IE Tab for those web pages that just have to be viewed with IE.
