That is an amazing fish - however I've always thought that a story is mandatory when talking about fishing. Like what the heck is it, did you eat it, how epic was the reeling in...:D

Thanks everybody! That is a Red Drum, also known as the Spotted Tail Bass! I was totally exhausted when I finally got him in. It took at least 30 minutes to get him on the boat!
P.S. Ellen we have found that it's best filleted and grilled! Oh and that's what's for dinner tomorrow!:D

Thanks Larry, I was in Plymouth N.C in 2005 and didn't get a chance to get out to the outer banks. It was hurricane season, so the weather was not the best. Maybe next time I'll get out there!
I was excited and exhausted at the same time!

Wow! You must be proud of that catch! I better not show your picture to my 10-year-old son or he'll be hitchhiking his way to Georgia! He's obsessed with pursuing a fish like that... :D

Oh Julie, I would love to take him fishing. I would heap rather a child catch the fish than me.

Real nice fish. I have fished for Red fish in Florida in the past and caught several. Great time isn't it. In florida there is a season and a size limit. They can be too small and too big. Had I caught that fish in Florida, I would have had to set it free.... Too Big!
Congrats.

We are having major problems on the fresh water rivers, but there's a major dispute about it going on right now. One of the problems is the amount of water being held by the dams in North Georgia, I do hope they resolve this issue real soon.

Smiles,

All you have to do in North Georgia is just walk out to a pool of water and reach down and pick a fish. The lake I live on is currently 15 feet below normal and the Corp is still letting water out (I understand why), but we only have 80 days or less of drinking water out of that lake ... pond.

By the way, nice fish. Plan on heading down to Savannah soon to go picture taking right after I come back from the Smokies taking pictures.

Thanks,
Dane
