Hi Im new here and hope someone can help me. I have recently installed PSE5, previously had PSE4. Have imported all previous photos from PSE4 catalogue to PSE5 catologue, they print out OK. Today had a problem trying to print a new photo uploaded through PSE5 from the Organizer, the whole program just closes down - its cracking me up as I just dont know what to do. Any help??

I wish I could offer a suggestion, but I've been having the same problem for about a year. I've called Adobe and searched the internet without getting an answer. If you learn anything, please post the resolution out here.

The photo sounds like it's corrupt. Try a different photo to see if it works. Then create a new photo to replace the corrupt one and print. Don't use any parts of the old photo.
Hope this helps

Can you print that same photo from the PSE 5 Editor?

Knowing this might help to isolate if it is the photo file or the program.

I don't know about the original user that posted this error, but I can print and work with the photo in PSE - I just can print from organizer. This also happens for no apparent reason. Recently I printed about six photots from organizer and the couldn't print anymore.

Are you running on Vista or XP? Before you started printing did you open the file successfully in the Editor or are you just trying to print straight from the Organizer module?

I'm running XP, and I've done both. Open in PSE first and print from Organizer first

Im also on XP, tried things both ways, in fact almost every way I could think of yesterday. Some photos printed from Editor but not Organiser, some wouldnt print at all. But they will print if I just use the Windows printing wizard and not PSE at all.

I just finished trying various scenerios out of PSE5. The only time I get a "lock up" if you will, is in the Organizer and that occurs if the file is 1) Unprocessed RAW or 2) if the file is either/or Tiff/PSD with multiple layers uncompressed with a file size of over 100MB, which I kind of suspected from the outset, because the Organizer, which I really don't use just does not seem to like oversize files, comparable to the files I usually work with. Other than that I really don't know of anything else that would prevent you from printing on either side of PSE.

I have tried printing again tonight. I still cannot print some photos from the Organizer, these are just simple photos without any editing at all, but the same photo will print from Editor, then I went back to Organizer and the photo printed this time, but other photos still wont. Although some photos taken several months ago will print OK from Organizer. Im very confused!

Similar issues in the past have been fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling your printer drivers. Give that a try.
