Last week's theme turned out to be kind of a wild ride, so let's take a load off. Kimi suggested chairs as a theme ... but I'll expand it a bit to include other options. The theme this week is someplace to sit.

Everyone is invited to participate.
Because the purpose of the weekly theme is to get us more familiar with our cameras and to sharpen our photographic skills, entries should be taken during the week of the theme.
Photoshopping is allowed.

Shot this outside the Williamsburg, Va. train station this afternoon. I really like the high contrast sketch effect I've seen several others doing in the past few days so I applied it to the photo and really liked the results.

The doll was one I gave Patti for Christmas several years ago. The chair we bought later. It commands a significant position in our living room. The head is porcelain and hand painted. Needless to say, grandkids do NOT get to play with it. Enjoy.

Scenic spot developed by one of our nicer resorts for their guests. They've grown used to seeing me frequently sitting there with my camera this summer. :)

I expected more blurring in the vegetation - strong bitter wind by the lake today, brrrrr. I didn't linger!

I may have stretched the relevance to the theme a bit but I really wanted to post this photo from yesterday because I earlier complained about our drought conditions. We finally got some significant rainfall and this is what it looked like as it approached. People do use the granite blocks for sitting on so I didn't completely cheat.;):D

This is a pic of my sister and I getting ready to go out for our last salmon fishing trip of the fall this year. Instead of catching salmon we caught two stealhead.

Patti, Quill, and I went over to Florence on the Oregon Coast yesterday and took some pictures. This collage/montage shows some of them, those that relate places to sit. I admit that the photo of the fat guy with the beard in the red coat was taken by Patti. The "drift"wood (actually storm wood) offered many opportunities to sit. In town the top one is a bench with a neat view of craft. The other is of a carved seat in front of a store that sells saw art. Kind of interesting. A fun day was had by all.
In keeping with the Breast Cancer Awarness theme for the month, I placed one of the embellishments from our mega-scrap kit (see the scrapping forum) from "Scraps of Pink". Enjoy
