View Full Version : F11/Play - what determines order slides play in?

I have one day to scan 800 photos and turn them into a slideshow. I'm done scanning which I happened to do in batches that are in separated into their own folders. If I could get the batches to play together (order inside the batch not important) I would be happy.

I will be using the computer that the Organizer is installed on to play the photos onto a 42 inch monitor. I've been testing by pressing F11 and play and it looks great but I can't figure out the order the slides are playing in.

I tried using "Create Slideshow" but the quality of the output was terrible (scans are 600 dpi and look great in the F11 mode)

Is there a way to force Photoshop Elements 4 to play each folder in order? I named them folder1 - folder2 etc.

Thanks

I think you want to create a "Collection" and assign it to all of the images you want in the slide show.

Then, you can order the images within the Collection, and they will play in that order.

Adding to Byron's comment

Since it appears that you already have the sequence that you wish arranged in multiple Windows folders -

When you are adding photos to that PSE Collection,

- have the Folder Location view be the choice in the Photo well

- select and add all the photos of Folder 1

- then select and add all the photos of Folder 2, etc.

It took me 30 minutes to find collections because I'm working with a 15" monitor and had pushed the tags and collections window divider all the way to the right to make more room for the Photo well. Finally I noticed the little arrow on the right divider, created a collection and brought in each folder. Its working just the way I want now.

Thanks
