I bet a poll would show 80% over 48 years young using this forum and pse 3.
Just reading posts, senior moment, over 50, brain slow comments.
Of course WE ALL know why, children (for most) grown and gone (thank goodness). Maybe most retired? Can't move as fast anymore so we sit here. I could go on and on...for the reason of being here at this forum and others. Yes, over 50  And I am enjoying it.

This topic is not meant to be depressing just uplifting to know we CAN still learn new tricks.

Well I don't mind being over 50 -- I still learn things and my bank gave me absolutely free checking including the checks so I can't complain too much.

I could take this to yet another level and still be over the mark. And yes continuing to learn is what keeps one Young.....at heart anyway!! :D :D

The luxury is having all the time you need to accomplish whatever it is you are striving for.

I'm 63 and enjoying it. I am really happy that the age of technology did not totally pass me by. I feel fortunate to be part of cyberspace and all its wonders. I cannot compete with the young ones today but there are plenty of people my age who have never sent an email.

I'm one of Wendy's Silver Surfers in training. When I get to old to learn something new, then they can roll me into the grave. I'm 64.5 and my wife and I will celebrate 41 yrs. on Sunday. My family, photography, this site, and you all give me something to look forward to each day.

Wendy, I did turn some pens & pencil sets and wine stoppers, but I didn't take any photo of them. They were sent to relative in Tennesse. Other than that I've been spend too much time here. Oh, I did scrollsaw a parrot that I have hanging in my kitchen and will probably get a photo of it soon.

Thanks for asking. Dorrie

Rich,

Your Intarsia work shows it too (passion that is). Very, Very nice work, but I like you have been spending too much time on Elements. However I do teach scrollsaw and have an up coming class on Intarsia for beginners in October at a Woodcraft store near me.

This is my project for them...

I have seen that type of work around.... as good as the photos are, they don't do it justice. I can only imagine how nice those pieces must look in real.
I didn't know there was a name for it though.

Beautiful work you two.

Beautiful work Dorrie and what a wonderful peace for beginners to do!!
A couple Christmas' ago I bought my Mother in law a beautiful Intarsia piece for her kitchen. I just loved it (but couldn't have it myself since it said, Grandma's kitchen. It was a still life with a bowl, spoon and I can't remember what else, but she loves it.

Gary,

Judy Gale Roberts gave it the name "Intarsia" about 25 years ago when she created her works of art. Yes, some people have created some beautiful projects based on her development. Scrollsawing is a growing art. Someone is always developing something new, that's what's so wonderful about it.

Just like Photoshop Elements, someone is always figuring out a way to do something better or creative.
